Small Group Classes

What are Small Group Classes?

All small group classes can be purchased in blocks of six sessions – six of one type, or a combination of the three – classes are held outside, giving you a mega dose of fitness, fresh air and vitamin D.
Each class has a space for up to 6 women (babies in a buggy are welcome too!). The numbers are small so that you get the best value from each session. Keeping the group small means that I can coach and cue each of you correctly and be able to ensure that you are able to perform each exercise safely and at a level appropriate to your abilities.

Class overview

This small group situation will give you a better opportunity to ask questions, to learn about your body and to improve your fitness and mobility. The size of these classes gives a more personal feel and it is a great place to meet new people or a place for you and your friends to spend time together whilst keeping fit, safely.

There is a choice of class type and location, detailed below. As these sessions run outside, please make sure that you dress yourself and your babies (if applicable) appropriately for the weather. I’ve put together a handy checklist for what you should consider here: What to wear

These classes are a great accompaniment to the Bespoke 1:1 training and the 1:1 short courses.

Who is it for?

Classes are suitable for any woman; pregnant, post partum, long-term post-partum & those wanting to ease in to exercise. Recently post partum ladies can join from 8+ weeks post vaginal delivery and 10+ weeks post c-section, providing that you have had your checks and have been cleared to exercise by your GP or medical practitioner. Each new client will be required to fill out a health questionnaire and book in an initial assessment before taking part in any class. This is to ensure that the classes are suitable for you and so that any issues, such as leaking urine, core weakness or diastasis recti (separation of the abdominal muscles) can be detected and discussed. Carrying out these essential checks ensures that appropriate exercise adaptations can be provided.

Park Mum

These 45 minute, “Park Mum” sessions have space for up to 6 women (babies in buggies are welcome). The classes will typically consist of a variety of gentle mobilisations, circuit-type strength/resistance work, walking and an appropriate range of fast-burn-finishers and a cool down.
All exercises will be adapted to suit each client, so variations will ensure that no one finds it too hard, or too easy. Each exercise will be coached and cued correctly to ensure your core and pelvic floor are connected and working to support you.

Once you have booked your six session class pass (see the green box below), you can then book on to your six chosen classes, either six of one class, or a mix of the three classes.

All exercises will include variations to suit each client, making sure that no one finds the class too hard or too easy. Each exercise will be coached and cued correctly to ensure proper alignment and good engagement of your core and pelvic floor – keeping you and your body safe and helping to reduce any symptoms of dysfunction.
